Product Application

Sodium methoxide has a wide range of applications, primarily in the production of sulfonamide drugs. It is also a catalyst in organic synthesis, used in pesticide production and oil processing. Sodium methoxide is produced in two forms: solid and liquid. The solid form is pure sodium methoxide, while the liquid form is a methanol solution of sodium methoxide, with a sodium methoxide content of 27.5-31%. It is used as a basic condensing agent and catalyst in organic synthesis, in the synthesis of fragrances and dyes, and is a raw material for vitamins B1 and A, and sulfadiazine. It is also used as a raw material in pharmaceuticals and pesticides, and is an important raw material for the synthesis of drugs such as sulfadiazine, sulfamethoxazole, and sulfonamide potentiators. It is also used as a catalyst for processing edible fats and oils (especially lard) to alter their structure, making them suitable for margarine, etc., and must be removed in the final food product. It is mainly used as a condensing agent, a strong basic catalyst, and a methoxylating agent in the production of vitamin B1, vitamin A, sulfadiazine, and other drugs, and in small quantities in pesticide production. It is also widely used as an analytical reagent in the fragrance and dye industries.
